The Etihad Rail revealed in a statement that, it has assigned the project related to the construction of the central Operation and Maintenance (O&M) facility at Al Faya.
The project has been assigned to a Joint Venture (JV) led by VINCI Construction, France. and the project value $230 million
The project award is in track with Etihad Rail’s future strategy to provide a railway network that supports and strengthens the long-term development of the national economy. The facility will be the great and the most important facility on the network; it will be responsible for installations, warehousing, operations, and the maintenance of locomotives and carriage. The facility will also include an administrative constructive to control the operations of all networks. The Board of Directors of Etihad Rail expand its appreciation to federal and local government authorities for their outstanding efforts and collaboration in the land allotment process so far this year and issuing all necessary licenses and permits to implement the project. Etihad Rail has now assigned all civil works and construction contracts for Phase Two of the national railway network. Etihad Rail also started construction on Package A of Stage Two, signed a contract for the build of a series of Freight Facilities centres, and assigned a contract for the supply of locomotives to extend the company’s fleet to 45.
