South Korean Construction company, SK Engineering, and Construction, SK E&C said in a statement that, it has secured a Front End Engineering Design, FEED contract for Advanced Global Investment Company’s new propane dehydrogenation, polypropylene, and utilities and offsites complex.
The project located is in Jubail Industrial City, the eastern region of Saudi Arabia
The value of the signed contract is $7.55 million.
The project is awarded by the joint venture (JV) of its energy arm SK gas and Saudi Arabian Advanced Global Investment Company (AGIC). SK E&C will be in charge of Front End Engineering Design for the PDH plant and utility and off-site facilities.
PDH is a process of generating propylene by removing hydrogen from propane gas. The propylene produced is polymerized to polypropylene to be used for a wide diversity of purposes, from industrial materials such as car trims to daily business, such as kitchen wares.
Under the project, SK E&C will embark on the FEED work for the PDH plant and utility facilities that can produce a yearly amount of 843,000 tons of propylene,
The period of the project is set for about six months, the company said.
Recently, Fluor Corporation received the PMC Contract of this project. (read more)
