Qiddiya have awarded $186.6 million roads and bridges contract

Saudi Arabia’s Qiddiya Investment Company (QIC) revealed in a statement, Awarding of the project related to the construction of roads and bridges.

the signed contract value is $186.6 million.

The Project has been assigned to Saudi based construction firm, Shibh Al-Jazira Contracting Co. – SAJCO. This is the second project SAJCO received from Qiddiya. SAJCO earlier received a contract related to road works. As part of the agreement, SAJCO will build seven bridges, 45km of road works. An estimated 6.5 million cu.m earth excavation is required to execute for the above works. More than, 80,000 cu.m of concrete will be utilized for the construction of bridges and involved structures. An asphalt of 1.2 million sq.m will be utilized for road services.

The completion of the project will be in May 2023. Qiddiya already assigned more than SAR 1billion contracts for the year 2020 and is expected to be award SAR 10 billion contracts in the coming days. The project is located almost 45 km southwest of Riyadh City Centre along Makkah road. It is being built on a 334 square-kilometer site. The first phase comprising the entrance roads, the City Centre, Golf Area, Motion and Mobility and the Resort Core along with all their expected infrastructure systems and an ultimate which includes all other areas and several plots forming the overall master plan.
