Abu Dhabi $1.6 billion project to Hyundai Heavy Industries for offshore oil production.

Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Co. has awarded a $1.6 billion project to Hyundai Heavy Industries for offshore oil production facilities at Um Shaif.

The project involves construction of three fixed 40,000-ton platforms, subsea pipelines, and bridges to be completed by 2010 off Abu Dhabi. Production rates will be 300,000 bbl of oil and 1 Bcf of gas per day.
